KTM bicycles are built using modern leading-edge production technologies and equipped with the best components from renowned manufacturers. Therefore, KTM grants the initial purchaser, in buying a completely assembled bicycle, a guarantee of 5 years against material defects and defects in workmanship (only by adherence to the prescribed maintenance conditions: see below) for the frame (including rear swing arm) and 2 years for the fork (when it is a KTM product. Otherwise, the conditions of the fork manufacturer apply). The 5 year guarantee on the frame will only be granted when an annual inspection by an authorized KTM dealer - according to the maintenance schedule and instructions delivered with this operations manualtakes place. This must be confirmed with the authorized KTM - dealer’s stamp and signature. If such an inspection and maintenance is missed the warranty period is reduced from 5 years for the frame to 3 years. The costs of the inspection and maintenance must be borne by the owner of the KTM bicycle. KTM bicycles and KTM forks made of carbon have a 3 year guarantee. Bicycles that are subject to extreme stress (DH, dirt, freeride) are also limited to a 3 year guarantee.

The warranty period begins from the date of purchase. This guarantee is only granted to initial purchases from an authorized KTM dealer to the exclusion of purchases via Internet auctions. In the case of a guarantee claim, KTM has the option, in its sole discretion, to repair or replace the defective parts. KTM reserves the right to xchange broken parts and frames for new parts of the technical niveau and design of the  current model year. Parts that are not defective can only be replaced at the guarantee-holder’s expense. Wear and tear parts, as long as they become damaged through normal wear and tear are excluded from the warranty. These parts are as follows: Rims in conjunction with rim brakes, paint, brake pads and brake discs, saddle, grips, tyres, handlebar, stem, seat post, bearings and the seals of moving parts, sprockets, chain wheels, derailleur or chain guide wheels, brake and gear cables, bulbs. KTM can not honour any guarantee claim for damage caused by alteration or assembly of any part not appropriate to the respective bicycle type or by misuse.

At the end of the operation manual is a handover protocol. When this is acknowledged and signed by the consumer, a copy is retained by the dealer to store in the customer file. This protocol must be presented together with the defective bicycle or part in the event of a guarantee claim. It is regarded as proof of sale, without which no reclamation is possible.

The guarantee is valid worldwide. To claim the warranty take your guarantee certificate to the place of purchase. The dealer will then take the necessary action. A warranty cannot be invoked if changes to the original construction or equipment have been made or the bicycle has been used under abnormal conditions. With this guarantee KTM grants a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty. Additional claims from national warranty rights remain unaffected.
